Value
is about performance! One of the most critical issues facing an organization
is its ability to set goals, apply sufficient resources and manage to
results using readily understood metrics. The focus should be on measuring
results and not activity. Goal
setting should take stock of the relative position an organizations
finds itself in so that reasonable goals can be established based on
the capability and resources available. In our process, we establish
a performance baseline to define improvement actions, assess the goals
related to those actions, allocate resources, and measure performance.
Our focus is on Placing People Right for immediate results. This means
a focus on problems, resources and then people rather than
: people, resources, and then the problems. We have developed
an Ideal Organization model to define the key positions,
roles, responsibilities, reporting relationships and performance measures
for all parties involved in the Lab to Market process. A Goal Workbook
and Goal Setting Template are used to guide the translation of best
actions into related goals and resource plans.
